Carolyn Irwin
Managing Director, Corporate & Purpose

I’m a corporate and sustainability communications specialist with a passion for shaping and amplifying responsible business growth. I lead integrated communications teams that use human stories to bring corporate narratives to life, via earned, paid and social media, public affairs, advocacy and employee communications.

Much of my career has been advising organisations of all sizes across the FMCG, retail, technology, professional and financial services sectors on how to positively shape their corporate reputations via powerful messaging, behavioural change campaigns and multichannel engagement strategies. Alongside this has been a focus on issues management, helping businesses mitigate crises, protect their license to operate and repair their reputations.

Over the course of nearly 20 years in the communications industry, purpose has become an increasingly important aspect of corporate reputation and as a result,  I now specialise in helping businesses define their unique contributions to society, place this at the heart of their business strategies and amplify their positive impacts and ability to effect change. I work closely with c-level clients, counselling them on how to successfully integrate ESG strategies into their communications and leveraging data-driven insights to anticipate audience demands and help them stand out.

For my last agency, I developed their global sustainability proposition and grew a client base of dedicated ESG communications clients. Over the course of my career, I have also taken tremendous pride in bringing on junior talent and supported successful PR Week 30 under 30 candidates for two consecutive years.

It was fate that I would work for the UK’s #1 tech agency: I started my career in 2005, placing motherboards and graphics cards in tech trade publications for a range of IT manufacturers and even met my husband at the What Laptop Awards. Today, when I’m not working, I divide my time between my three children, a passion for karaoke and an obsession with my Peloton bike.
