Brands2Life partners with HeadStart to support 90 young people with their progress into the workplace and employment during 2022

London, UK – 9th December, 2021 – Brands2Life, the award-winning communications agency, has today announced its partnership with Family Action’s HeadStart programme and will be supporting 90 young people with their progress into the workplace and employment during 2022. The new partnership, live from 1st January, will involve career workshops and discovery days, paid workplace experience placements and training for young people coming through HeadStart, as well as support from Brands2Life for HeadStart campaigning and fundraising, provided pro bono.

HeadStart is run by national charity Family Action and is a youth employability and volunteering programme designed to support young people to develop the skills, experience and confidence needed to secure and stay in employment. They do this by offering access to skills-building workshops, volunteering and opportunities for part-time jobs and paid work experience.

“We chose to partner with Family Action as it is a charity that is making measurable impact on society, and leads the way in showing how businesses can work to develop the employability of young people,” commented Sarah Scales, Co-Founder at Brands2Life. “HeadStart makes a real difference and we look forward to supporting them with the diverse skills and talents of Brands2Life employees to help more young people step from school to work. We are hoping that some of the young people will be able to join Brands2Life as part of our fast-growing junior account executive (JAE) team. Over the last two years, Brands2Life has recruited over 24 JAEs.”

“The reception to the partnership from the team at Brands2Life has been brilliant. We’re looking forward to not only the reward of empowering and developing young people for the workplace, but also obtaining new skills and experiences that can educate us all and help us provide even more innovative work for our clients.”

Robert Whiteside, National Manager, HeadStart, Family Action commented, “With the team at Brand2Life, we’ll be working with a pool of engaged, enthusiastic volunteers who will be invaluable to our community by sharing their multi-disciplinary knowledge and experiences. We’re really excited to begin this partnership.”

This initiative marks the next phase of Brands2Life’s goal to widen participation into our own industry, boosting diversity and making the PR industry a more inclusive place to be and work. Brands2Life has an on-going partnership with local state school, The Ark Globe Academy, which has over 1,000 predominately non-white pupils, where the agency has run three career enrichment days for 50 pupils, coached their marketing manager and hosts sixth form pupils for work experience each year.

Brands2Life has also made significant contributions in the past to both Action for Children/ByteNight and HackneyQuest.
