Kaluza is OVO’s intelligent energy platform; able to connect and control millions of smart devices across people’s homes, such as electric vehicles. It needed to align its tech and energy positioning for external audiences, and see a radical acceleration of coverage to get its name out there and get on the radar of key national contacts.
Working in close alignment with the internal press team, we refined messaging and positioning and quickly implemented a high-octane press office function – realising a constant stream of announcements, proactive spokesperson profiling and data-driven storytelling.
Topics ranged from technical analyst pieces on EV smart charging and secondary peaks, to EV partnership announcements with Bosch and Fiat, to the future of our grid – and the associated technical and regulatory challenges and opportunities.

We also supported the evolving alignment with OVO’s comms function around strategic announcements and press activity.
Over a three month period, we delivered 34 pieces of quality coverage, secured spokesperson interviews with Forbes and BloombergNEF, and fostered relations with the likes of The Guardian’s Jillian Ambrose and The Sunday Times’ Nicholas Hellen. Blanket coverage was secured in key trade targets – from Business Green to Utility Week to automotive and transport titles.
