London, UK – 7 October 2024 – Following a competitive pitch earlier this year, Brands2Life has launched the new brand it created for the National Energy System Operator (NESO). The comprehensive rebrand introduces a new brand identity, messaging, and visual language that underscores NESO’s crucial role in leading the UK’s transition to net zero.
NESO has been set up as the new independent public corporation responsible for planning Britain’s electricity and gas networks and operating the electricity system. It has been established to deliver the decarbonisation of the energy for Great Britain and oversee whole system planning to achieve net zero in a secure and affordable way for consumers.
The re-brand reflects this evolution and positions NESO as a cornerstone of the new energy landscape.
Brands2Life conducted extensive research and stakeholder workshops, involving over 400 NESO staff members. This process resulted in a new brand positioning and core idea: “Energising Progress”, one that encapsulates NESO’s Purpose, Vision, and Values and emphasises its drive to solve problems and push the boundaries of what is possible. The agency developed a comprehensive brand strategy, including a new messaging narrative, tone of voice, and messaging pillars. It also created a unique and ownable visual identity to bring to life NESO’s ambition and togetherness.
