VP (New York City or San Francisco Bay Area)

This is an exciting new role at one of the world’s leading tech PR and communications agencies. You will have the opportunity to run and grow a client roster of some of the world’s most innovative B2B technology companies, supporting them on their growth journey from market entry through to IPO, reporting to the Brands2Life US MD. You’ll be expected to work closely with the MD, Deputy MD and other VPs to develop the agency strategy and plans in the US; manage, coach and develop the team; look after and build the client accounts; and help find and win new clients. You will also work closely with the agency’s London-based leadership team.

Main responsibilities
  • Reports to Rene Musech, MD, Brands2Life US
  • Serve on the senior management team to contribute to the overall agency strategy and growth.
  • Support in the development of the company proposition, sales and marketing, specifically as it relates to the agency’s IPO readiness offering
  • Retain and grow a group of clients that are a mix of marque brands and sought-after start-ups – (estimate billing circa $2m+)
  • Act as the senior manager representing the agency through various networking and marketing activities
  • Further grow company revenue by pursuing, pitching and winning an expanding list of new clients. Own assigned inbound new business requests and actively nurture and bring in proactive targets for the agency.
  • Collaborate closely with other senior colleagues in both the US and UK
  • Be a respected counsellor to CEOs and senior management at client companies.
  • Active, hands-on participation driving the success of accounts, including media and influencer relations, social media and content oversight and development.
  • Develop internal leaders across accounts to expand clients’ connections with the team and grow overall business.
  • Consistently forecast revenue, meet targets and work around unforeseen circumstances.
  • Be an effective ambassador, both internally and externally. Continually highlight examples of the agency’s best work and educate employees about the high agency standards.
  • Grow, mentor, manage, and retain an exceptional team of talent including career management and performance appraisal
  • Meet or exceed agreed upon office metrics, including revenue and billability goals.
  • Support internal processes such as budgeting, invoicing, and time-management so that operationally your teams are run efficiently and effectively.
Position requirements
  • 12+ years of PR experience specifically in the B2B tech PR sector, including time spent in a senior role in an agency
  • Experience counselling several technology companies as they prepare for an IPO and then taking them through listings day and beyond
  • Broad client experience across B2B technology brands – both established and start-up – with particular interest in enterprise tech, AI, cybersecurity and fintech.
  • The ability to transition effortlessly from visionary planner to hands-on executor – and back – as situations demand it
  • Demonstrated ability to generate relationships with prospects and then quickly lead the team in writing, pitching and winning new assignments
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly build trust with clients as a senior advisor
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee client programs, ensuring that they consistently deliver against stated client objectives and that client communications programs are of the highest-standard
  • A team-player with strong leadership qualities, as well as capacity to effectively manage a team
  • Be present and visible in the market as a leader, including participating in a variety of marketing activities and networking events to promote the agency brand

Senior Media Relations Strategist (New York City)

This is an exciting new role at one of the world’s leading tech PR and communications agencies. You will have the opportunity to work with some of the world’s most innovative and fast-growth B2B technology companies, leading the agency’s work in crafting stories and securing earned media opportunities that reach the audiences that matter to our clients most.

Main responsibilities
  • Report to Deputy MD and NYC office lead, Brands2Life US
  • Work with clients to develop media stories that can be placed in the earned channels that will enable the clients to reach their target audiences
  • Maintain close relationships with tier 1 business and technology writers, editors and producers, enabling the agency to test story ideas as well as quickly pitch for consideration
  • Keep the agency account teams and clients continually updated on journalist movements
  • Keep the agency and account teams informed on the trends each key journalist/publication is most interested in covering
  • Communicate pitch feedback with the account teams and clients and continuously make updates to story angles and identify new ones
  • Monitor breaking news each morning and identify opportunities for rapid response commentary on behalf of the agency’s clients
  • Participate in the preparation of new business proposals and attend new business pitches to present on the earned media strategy, as required
  • Understand the earned media KPIs across all assigned client accounts and ensure quarterly targets are consistently met or exceeded
Position requirements
  • 8+ years of experience crafting stories for B2B technology companies and working closely with top tier trade, business and technology media OR 8+ years of professional journalism experience, covering technology companies
  • A consistent and prolonged track record of crafting creative and compelling technology and business stories that were then published or produced in top tier business and technology publications; podcasts; and broadcast channels
  • Deep relationships with business and technology writers, editors and producers at the US’ top business, technology and broadcast outlets
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with a team and communicate professionally with a variety of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly get up to speed on different types of technology, master clients’ core messages, and translate their offering in a way that appeals and can be understood by a wider business audience
  • Demonstrated ability to generate new media relationships
  • The ability to be present and visible in the market as a media relations thought leader, including participating in a variety of networking events to continually deepen and expand media relationships
  • A curious self-started with a determined work ethic that enables you to continuously try new approaches until targets are achieved

Public Relations Account Coordinator – B2B Technology

With the continued growth of our US office and exciting new business wins, we are looking to recruit a proactive, creative and detail-oriented Account Coordinator.

You will have the opportunity to join a quickly growing business and learn as part of the firm that has won more global tech communications agency and campaign awards than any other in the last five years. You will also have the chance to work with some of the World’s best recognized technology brands on a range of multi-disciplinary, global campaigns stretching beyond PR to meet our clients’ changing communications needs.

Account Coordinators ensure their accounts run smoothly, working with their account teams to support the content creation, media and influencer relations, social media and activity reporting functions to exceed their clients’ expectations.

Our ideal Account Coordinator will have:

  • 3+ months of internship experience in a communications function
  • A genuine interest in technology
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills
  • A love of reading
  • A drive to stay up to date on macro-economic, political and social trends
  • Knowledge of the US media landscape
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Superior organization and time management skills
  • The ability to consistently hit deadlines
