Brands2Life’s Bytenight contribution tops £50,000
Brands2Life has been supporting Bytenight/Action for Children for over five years. Founded by Ken Deeks in 1998, Bytenight has been raised over £4m to help prevent youth homelessness.
Every year a bunch of Brands2Life people have raised money for this fantastic charity by sleeping rough on the night near Tower Bridge and doing all kinds of fund-raising activities in the run-up to the night itself.
We were delighted to learn recently that we have raised a total of £50,548.88 for Action for Children since we started. In a list that includes Norton Rose, Dell and RBS, Brands2Life took the 11th place overall for amount of money raised coming in above much larger businesses such as Barclays, Cisco Systems, HP and KPMG.
The whole Brands2Life team has been actively involved in the fundraising effort through a series of events over the years. In 2012 alone £12,000 was raised through a makeover evening offering massages and manicures; a raffle to win a Marc Jacobs handbag; a wine and cheese night; desk-side Frappuccino delivery on hot days and a concert by house band The Warm Leads. Ten members of the team braved the elements by sleeping rough this year when, for the first time for many years, it rained!
