Virgin Media: Launching VOOM

CHALLENGE

We needed to create an event for the 2017 launch of VOOM and the first ever VOOM Tour, taking the national competition on the road to find the best new business ideas. Virgin Media Business wanted an event that would engage key stakeholders within the business, provide a networking opportunity for those in the VOOM community (previous entrants, winners and budding entrepreneurs), and drive media coverage.

APPROACH

In line with the Virgin values, we wanted the event to have a fun, relaxed feel – so we created ‘VOOM Fest’. It had an area for presentations and a Q&A session with Sir Richard Branson, a ‘coffee shop’ networking area, and stands for the various VOOM partners offering advice to budding entrepreneurs. Guests were transported to the venue on an exclusive boat service and were treated to food from street food trucks and drinks from previous VOOM winners What A Melon.

IMPACT

We managed the entire event from start to finish including location, event styling, AV, audio, lighting, catering and the presentations, as well as the media strategy with interviews, photography and media attendees.

Over 120 people attended the event including ten media. #VOOM (the event hashtag) was trending on Twitter the morning of the event.
