#UKDigiStrategy – Hear from the UK’s leading tech influencers

Party politics, ethical dilemmas, how to support emerging sectors, crowdsourcing public services and empowering customers all emerged as top priorities at Brands2Life’s recent debate “The UK: A Leading Digital Nation?”.

The new UK Digital Strategy, expected soon after the EU Referendum, will set the foundations for government’s support and regulation of the digital economy for the next five years.  At Brands2Life we work with digital and tech-based businesses of all shapes and sizes.  When the Government announced it was developing its vision, we knew this would create both a challenge and opportunity for our clients and other organisations in the tech sector.

First we crowdsourced and published ideas from across the tech community on how government could support the digital economy.  Then we invited everyone to meet leading tech influencers in Houses of Parliament for a debate on what Government must do to make the UK a leading digital nation, and live tweeted at #UKDigiStrategy.

Our host Matt Warman MP led what turned out to be a fascinating discussion, joined by Eddie Copeland, Director of Innovation at Nesta; Debbie Wosskow, CEO of LoveHomeSwap and Chair of Sharing Economy UK; Antony Walker, Deputy CEO of techUK and Lord Toby Harris, Labour Peer and Treasurer of PICTFOR
