HCA: Providing strategic counsel on reputational issues

CHALLENGE

HCA Healthcare is the world’s largest private hospital group, operating leading facilities such as The Portland Hospital for Women & Children, The Wellington Hospital and The Harley Street Clinic.  With ongoing scrutiny of private healthcare, changing regulation and an increased focus on quality of care, Brands2Life provides ongoing strategic counsel on reputational issues for HCA Healthcare UK.

APPROACH

We have formulated HCA’s crisis and issues management policy, structure and procedures, ensuring a consistent process for responding rapidly to incidents as well as providing training to hospital leadership teams and frontline nursing and clinical staff to prepare for potential issues. Brands2Life’s role also includes acting as first contact for HCA’s Press Office line, including out-of-hours support and fielding calls to the relevant commercial, management and agency teams.

IMPACT

Working closely with the legal director and hospital CEOs, Brands2Life has provided guidance on a range of complex and sensitive communications challenges and ensured an integrated response between legal, HR and clinical teams, as well as multiple hospitals, regulatory bodies, affiliated medical staff and industry associations.
