Meet the Board
Giles Fraser and Sarah Scales founded Brands2Life together in 2000, growing it into to an award-winning international PR agency with more than 80 people in central London.
Giles continues to run the agency, and is involved in client work on a day-to-day basis. He specialises in corporate and brand positioning and reputation management. Giles’ skills include: brand refreshes; C-Suite counselling; crisis and issues management; and digital and social media strategy.
Giles has over 25 years’ experience within public relations. His career has included spells as a global head of corporate comms, a management consultant and an MD within an international PR agency.
Giles has an English degree (BA Hons) from Pembroke College, Oxford and an MBA from Cass Business School. He is a Fellow of the CIPR and has been nominated as one of the top ten most powerful tech PR people in the UK in PR Week’s annual Powerbook.
As Co-Founder of Brands2Life, Sarah Scales is involved in both agency management and client work. Sarah’s expertise combines reputation protection, issues management and brand-building for global blue-chips.
She focuses on strategy development, positioning and messaging for clients, as well as CEO counselling and training. Sarah also manages logistical aspects of accounts from capacity planning to campaign implementation and results.
Sarah has over 20 years’ corporate, consumer and B2B communications experience spanning the CPG, retail, healthcare and technology sectors. She has worked both in-house in the healthcare sector and for several multi-national PR agencies.
Stand-out projects include advising on the media management of one of the UK’s largest mergers, establishing the EMEA communication structure for one of the US’ biggest brands, launching the world’s first Android phone and crisis-managing for London’s busiest hospital. Her specialism is the re-engineering and re-alignment of national and international communications functions in light of major business change, particularly the creation of multi-discipline integrated communications functions.
Alex joined Brands2life in December 2012, responsible for further development of the company’s digital and social media capabilities, leading the company’s eight-strong digital and social media team and contributing to the overall strategic direction of the business.
Alex brings with him a wealth of experience from his time as Head of Social Media and PR at O2 where he established the brand’s first social media team. During his time at O2, the company has been recognised for its comprehensive and early-adopter approach to using social media at scale, as a communications, marketing, and service channels. He has also worked on pan-European digital and social communications approaches, including taking responsibility for leading Telefónica Europe’s social media approach across markets.
Prior to O2 Alex was Head of Digital at Fishburn Hedges, where he advised clients including BT, Nestlé, Pret, and Tetra Pak.
Alex is a Director and Head of Consumer at Brands2Life. Her current client portfolio includes John Lewis, Match.com, Just-Eat and Nikon which involves strategy and coordination of a 33 country European network and management of Nikon Europe’s social media channels.
Alex has twelve years’ big brand PR experience spanning sectors from consumer technology, travel and fashion, to retail and beauty and clients including Nokia, T-Mobile and Tesco. Her campaign highlights include launching the Nikon 1 with an experiential campaign that went live simultaneously in seven cities across Europe; Nokia’s award-winning sponsorship of London Fashion Week; and re-launching Ray-Ban’s classic Wayfarer sunglasses via collaboration with iconic photographer, Mick Rock.
Armand David, a Director at Brands2Life, has worked with the company since 2004 when he started as a graduate. Armand is responsible for the leadership of a portfolio of corporate, business and digital accounts. He plays a lead role in gearing up the company’s systems and processes to deliver a next-generation agency experience for clients and an exceptional working environment for staff.
Armand specialises in managing integrated corporate, B2B and consumer communications campaigns. He has extensive experience of PR strategy and campaign execution, media training, messaging and crisis communications.
Armand is an expert in digital PR and social media, and he’s passionate about understanding clients’ business and using that insight to craft stories which translate across media with significant impact.
Armand has a Natural Sciences degree (MA hons) from Trinity Hall, Cambridge and a masters in Philosophy (MA hons) from UCL. He runs a personal blog at www.division6.co.uk on tech, media, food and family, and tweets @division6.
As a Director and Head of B2B at Brands2Life, Dan Chappell is responsible for the hands-on direction and strategic success of the programmes of some of the agency’s biggest clients.
Dan specialises in developing corporate brand and global thought-leadership campaigns and getting Brands2Life’s international B2B and corporate clients into top-tier business and broadcast media, underpinned by digital outcomes.
Dan also runs the Brands2Life journalist engagement programme and chairs the agency’s annual Digital & Technology trends event.
Dan joined Brands2Life in 2002 and now sits on the board and runs the B2B Practice, which includes a number of the world’s leading Digital, Technology, Media and Services businesses.
Dan is a PR Week Award winner for Brands2Life’s corporate campaigns in 2005 & 2008. His global thought-leadership work for Cognizant was highly commended in 2010, and his work for T-Mobile Business was shortlisted at the 2011 awards.
Guy Corbet is the Director of Brands2Life responsible for corporate and brand communications. By helping clients get closer to their most important audiences, he helps them build and protect their reputations and improve their marketing. This increasingly means combining social media and traditional channels as well as working closely with other marketing disciplines.
Guy joined Brands2Life in 2012. He has worked in corporate and brand communications for some twenty years, helping high-profile clients communicate often complex issues to a broad mix of audiences. These may be the media, customers or consumers, other businesses, broader influencers, investors, stakeholders, pressure groups, regulators, legislators or internal groups.
Harriet has been helping business and consumer brands build and maintain positive media profiles since 1997. She currently leads the Arup, Epson, mBlox and SHL accounts at Brands2Life.
Harriet is responsible for setting the communications strategy for clients and ensuring her teams meet challenging objectives that generate ROI. She works with clients to develop compelling messages and a story that will cut through into national, international and trade media.
Recent projects include a brand repositioning campaign for mBlox, a technology talent recruitment drive for NET-A-PORTER and a national profile and thought-leadership campaign for Arup. Harriet has run brand-building, corporate profiling, environmental, influencer, issues-led, regional, social media and vertical projects for both consumer and business brands. Previous clients include Amadeus, AVG, Barclays, BT, Business Objects, Cisco, CMG, Rentokil, Sainsbury’s, and USwitch.
Robin has been leading complex pan-European and global campaigns since 2000. He champions global thinking across the agency, spearheading Brands2Life’s international strategy and managing its global network of agency partners.
Robin has led international campaigns for Business Objects, BT, Cisco and Unisys. His work has been shortlisted for global campaign awards by the CIPR, PRCA and SABRE.
A lifelong linguist, Robin holds a BA degree in modern languages from the University of Manchester, speaks Spanish fluently and understands most other western European languages.
Tim Spink, Chief Financial Officer, joined the company four years ago. He is responsible for ensuring all clients achieve maximum financial value from their programmes.
Over the past 11 years Tim has worked across the media and publishing industries. He started his career in publishing, working for The Folio Society and Orion Publishing Group, before moving to Brands2Life in 2008.
Tim is an ACCA qualified accountant and has a BA (Hons) degree in Architecture from Brighton University.
